Reconnecting the Circle of Support During Pregnancy for Birth & Motherhood
"Childbirth is an experience in a woman's life that holds the power to transform her forever. Passing through these powerful gates - in her own way - remembering all the generations of women who walk with her... She is never alone." - Suzanne ArmsI’m so glad you found your way here. I invite you to take off your shoes and find a soft place to rest while I offer you a cup of fragrant tea. This is your tent. Are you familiar with the story of The Red Tent? Traditionally, the Red Tent was a safe place for women to come together for reflection and comfort during their monthly moon time.)
Eventually, it became a sacred space where women of all ages gathered together sharing stories and collecting wisdom. Childbirth was celebrated not feared and viewed as a protected rite of passage. The journey we share together during the weeks leading up to your birthing day, or should we meet the days following your birth, will become your “Red Tent”. It will be filled with your dreams, expectations, doubts, and concerns, along with new perspective, guidance, community, celebration and laughter. You will leave this tent (when you’re ready) with an abundance of resources and shared wisdom from other mothers who’ve rested and gathered here before you. You will take with you the necessary tools, techniques and evidence-based information to help you emotionally and physically prepare for your bodies “natural” birth and recovery. You will grow in confidence along the way as you discover options for your pregnancy, birth and 4th Trimester (postpartum) you had not imagined and ways to prepare for all the details that never occurred to you before joining me here. Motherhood at every stage is a sacred and delicate time that should be honored and protected in a Red Tent.
I invite you to explore these pages to learn more about my approach for supporting your mothering journey.
